Parker Street

Value - £650,000
Duration – 6 Months

The works consisted of replacement to the delaminated steel ring beam & internal refurbishment work. The works consisted of inserting I-bolts into the 1000kg coping stones & lifting these to ground level. Our specialist team had install steel braces inside the building as per the engineers design to prevent the relaxing stones on the building from moving.

The project had come about due to an untreated roof leak. Water had entered the fabric of the building & caused the steel ring beam to delaminate.  As a result the copings were leaning over & potentially ready to fall.

On the rear elevation of the building works consisted of erecting a specialist designed scaffold, & the removal of the rear elevation glazed brickwork to expose the structural steel from top to bottom. Steel replacement was undertaken to delaminated steels & cathodic protection applied to all steels.

Once structural alterations and repairs were complete then an internal refurbishment of the building was undertaken.
