The project comprised of the refurbishment and upgrade to the Armitage Centre reception area. Works included minor demolitions & structural alteration works, M&E upgrades and finishes including a new reception desk. As part of the works the centre remained open to the public at all times. MBC therefore had to set up a temporary reception desk and safely segregate the works area from the public.  
As part of the structural works we had to re-locate the fire alarm panel which served the whole building and therefore had to pay attention to particular risks and devise a method of introducing temporary fire points. We also had to work to tight deadlines as the centre had their prestigious Nike games and we could not be on site whilst these works were being undertaken. Works involved installing new access barriers linked to the tills, providing a new office for reception staff and supplying and installing a new reception counter. 
Out of hours works was required to install new entrance barriers and chase out floors when the centre was closed. Noisy works was kept to a minimum and all drilling undertaken out of hours.
