The works involved refurbishing the old ‘the northern bar’ into a new rebranded bar ‘The Freemount’
The works involve a full strip out and structural alterations. We undertook extensive structural steelwork alterations by opening up & removing the first floor to create a double height bar, moving the stairs from the centre of the building and creating a new stairwell to the rear.
We undertook full M&E design and relocated the ground floor WCs to basement level/ this involved installing a new staircase to basement level and drainage alterations. Walls were stripped back and sandblasted. New windows and doors were installed and a new canopy & outdoor patio area was created.
Our specialist joiners installed a new bar & undertook herringbone flooring. Works also included roofing works to the flat roof & new glazed domes. The bar wanted to go for the rustic look which fits in with the northern quarter feel.
